Our story
The story of Empotrador
Our story is a story of friendship. A story of two amigos who went to the Dominican Republic where they fell in love with the Merengue music, the wild nightlife, the fascinating food and the delicious drinks. Especially, the rum.
They visited several rum distilleries and developed a taste for this (in)famous Caribbean spirit. They knew they wanted to share their new-found passion for rum with their friends back home in Amsterdam.
In the following years they visited various Caribbean islands, sampled many rums and learned everything about how it’s made. Together with local distilleries, they developed their own unique rum recipe and called it Empotrador.
Empotrador is a rich blend of carefully selected Caribbean rums. A smooth, distinctive white rum with subtle tropical flavors. Made in the Caribbean, bottled in Amsterdam.
Drink Empotrador on the rocks, as a cocktail or simply with coke, a slice of lime and ice. Enjoy it with friends or strangers.

Life can be dull. That’s why we want to make the world more enjoyable and exciting by bringing people together to share moments. Empotrador is more than a rum, it’s an attitude on life. It’s about celebrating this finite life with friends or strangers and enjoying life’s every moment.
